Frequently Asked Questions

Can you mark my essay or provide feedback on my work?

Absolutely! I offer a professional marking service where I'll assess your work using the official Cambridge mark scheme, provide a grade, detailed feedback, and practical advice on how to improve. I'd love to provide free feedback on every essay I'm emailed, but unfortunately the sheer number of requests makes that impossible. The marking service ensures every student receives the time and detailed feedback their work deserves.

How can I improve my vocabulary?

The best way to improve your vocabulary is by reading regularly. When you come across an interesting word or phrase, jot it down, learn what it means and, most importantly, practise using it in your own writing. Remember: using precise vocabulary is much better than using fancy words for the sake of it.

Will I get penalised for going over suggested word counts?

No. And if I had a pound for every time I was asked this question, I'd be a very rich man indeed! You won't lose marks simply for exceeding the suggested word count. That said, it's there for a reason. The more you write, the harder it becomes to maintain focus, quality and precision. Stick close to the suggested length where you can, but don't panic if you go over slightly.
